Thompson Emergency Freight is an award-winning, time-critical transportation provider. Thompson drivers are fully certified and approved in all Canadian and U.S. customs border security programs and initiatives. Thompson has achieved Platinum Plus Status for the past five years, placing them in the top 5% of Canadian trucking fleets.
In 2015, Thompson launched the Book a Load… Plant a Tree program. Each time a delivery is booked through Thompson’s online portal, a tree is planted by Forest Recovery Canada (FRC).
“Coming into Thompson’s 30th year, we were looking for a way to give back to the communities we serve,” explained Mark Bortolotti, Thompson’s Marketing & Sales Director. “We’ve received almost universally positive feedback from our customers since launching this initiative, and we’re excited to continue.”
Thompson’s support enabled FRC to rehabilitate sites suffering decreased tree cover, due to invasive Emerald Ash Borer, through tree planting. The Emerald Ash Borer is an invasive species of beetle. Originally from Asia, the Emerald Ash Borer has been highly destructive since its arrival in Canada, killing tens of millions of ash trees.
“Forest Recover Canada is honoured that Thompson Emergency chose to partner with us in our efforts to increase tree planting and forest cover,” said Rob Keen, CEO of FRC and Forests Ontario. “Thompson’s actions are an excellent example of how businesses can take action to reduce their impact on our natural environment and do their part to address the challenges of climate change.”
Thompson Emergency Freight Systems strives daily to provide their valued, North America-wide customer base with industry-leading, time sensitive, and on-demand Surface Expedited Trucking and Air Charter/Cargo solutions.
